One Day Introductory Fly Fishing Schools

Deluxe Introductory  Fly-Fishing School
on the Bow River

Spend a day with Jim or Lynda, immersing yourself
in fly fishing.  Small group, private location.

Fly fishing is a marvelous blend of form and function and the late casting instructor,
Mel Krieger, often referred to students as “engineers or poets,” according to their method
of learning.  Fly fishing combines an intellectual understanding of how the equipment works
with a sensory perception of how it feels to cast a line with a rod.  This is why fly fishing is
best taught through a combination of classroom sessions (the engineer’s component) and
casting sessions (the poet’s component).  Our new small group basic schools do just that.
We enjoy a private location on the banks of the Bow a short drive from Calgary.  The
schools are taught with the McLennans' proven method, which has helped thousands of
fly fishers over the past two decades.   The classroom sessions are held in a rustic cabin
and the outdoor sessions are conducted both on dry land and in the river.
