Intermediate and Advanced Level

Though Jim no longer guides, he makes available a limited number of days each summer for these private teaching clinics. These are on-the-water sessions for one or two people with intermediate to advanced experience, and are intended to help with specific aspects of fly fishing. The clinics can focus on aquatic entomology, photography, casting, dry fly fishing technique, nymph fishing, or any aspect of the sport you choose.

The clinics can be done in a variety of locations. The topics of instruction and the clinic's location are determined in consultation with you.

1-Day Fly Fishing Clinics can be arranged on a date of your choice.

Cost: $520.00 Cdn. plus GST per day. Lunch provided.

Private Listening to the Bow School
Based on Jim's popular Listening to the Bow schools, which examine the techniques especially applicable to fishing the Bow River, this a private day with Jim on the Bow. The day can be structured either as a walk-and-wade day at a private location on the Bow, or a combination walk/wade and float-trip school. In the latter case, though the emphasis remains on walk and wade techniques, the use of a driftboat provides added flexibility and privacy. A short section of river is drifted, with stops at particular spots especially suited to the various techniques that will be covered.

The date of the trip and details of the curriculum are established in consultation between Jim and the students.

Cost: $550.00 Cdn plus GST per day. Lunch, boat, and shuttle included.
